Role Purpose:


To support, enhance and deliver the day-to-day operations of a leisure facility and all associated commissioned services by providing the upmost in terms of customer service excellence.


Role Accountabilities:

All our roles play a key part in delivering our strategic themes to achieve our goals:

  • Contribute towards achieving the business vision, values and targets
  • Undertake various duties under supervision as directed to
    ensure that all areas are cleaned to the highest standard and maintained in a safe and hygienic condition. Ensuring the facility is prepared and equipped ready for use with customer requirements.
  • Perform duties under supervision of a general leisure assistant,
    swimming instructor, sports coach, planning and delivering lessons to children of all ages and abilities. Ensuring these sessions develop the needs of the children whilst being enjoyable.
  • Perform duties under supervision of a lifeguard including working as part of a team to
    provide safe supervision of swimmers and prevent accidents. Providing rescues and life saving techniques when necessary.
  • Perform duties under supervision of a fitness instructor to
    guiding and directing through fitness programmes and group fitness classes.
  • To ensure all
    health and safety guidance is adhered to when delivering any session.
  • Take a
    friendly and outgoing approach and enjoy talking, empathising and interacting with others, communicating in line with business needs.
  • Demonstrate pride in role through a consistently
    positive and professional approach with an ongoing commitment to self-development.

The knowledge and qualifications gained will be:

  • ASA/STA Level 2 swimming teacher qualification
  • NPLQ/RLSS qualification
  • Level 2 Fitness Qualification
- _National Governing body (NGB) sport qualification to level 1 or above_
- _First Aid and Child protection training_

  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements around Leisure Centres
  • Knowledge of equal opportunities issues and appreciation of equal opportunities within service provision.

The skills developed will include:


  • Develop the ability to manage without direct supervision and make effective decisions in complex circumstances
  • Develop effective communication skills and the ability to communicate information to employees and customers
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Willingness to work flexibly when required.

Salary:
From £4.81 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
