Due to a recent restructure, we are looking to strengthen the team to ensure that we continue to be in a strong position to manage the future financial challenges ahead.

The role of Accountant (Revenue) is ideal for those who are looking to continue their journey to a senior career in local government working at an ambitious and forward-looking local council.

We are seeking someone who has the drive and ambition to learnnew skills and build a stronger team for the future.


We are also interested to hear from exceptional Accounting Technicians with at least three years relevant post qualification experience who must be willing to study for the professional CIPFA qualification.


You will need to demonstrate experience of working in a relevant accountancy environment and a good knowledge of working with an integrated Financial Management System.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing financial advice and support to officers and council members
  • Budgetary control, including the preparation of regular monitoring reports
  • Maintenance of the financial ledger system
  • Preparing annual budgets
  • Yearend accounts
  • Assisting with Collection Fund forecasts and year end closedown
  • Completing financial appraisals
  • Managing direct report staff.
