Role
Our Real Estate practice remains dynamic and an opportunity has arisen to add to the team in Glasgow. We are looking for a 5 years + PQE lawyer to join our team in Glasgow.

The team advise clients on a wide variety of high profile domestic and international real estate investment, development and finance transactions with a particular focus in the development and investment sectors.

This includes disposals/acquisitions, landlord and tenant and restructuring/insolvency.

You will also work with a major national infrastructure manager on real estate transactions across the whole spectrum including acquisitions/disposals, leasing, acquisition/granting of servitudes.

You will undertake a broad and varied range of real estate work working with some of the most sophisticated actors in the market involved in heavily publicised deals and drawing in the expertise of specialist departments.

It is expected that you will play a fundamental role in business development and have a prominent role within dedicated client service teams.


Responsibilities
Assisting on real estate finance, investment based disposals and acquisitions (including corporate share acquisitions), development and restructuring and insolvency transactions and other transactional work

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial real estate documents, including sale/purchase contracts, development agreements, agreements for lease and leases
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating security documentation and ancillary property documentation on real estate finance transactions
  • Liaising with our tax, planning, construction, employment, corporate and banking teams as appropriate
  • Dealing with the usual real estate due diligence requirements such as the preparation/review of certificates/reports of title and summary report
  • Active participation in business development and client relationship management.
  • Carrying out transactional sale/purchase, leasing and portfolio management work and general commercial property work
  • Carrying out asset management type work (eg shopping centres) and dealing with Landlord/Tenant leasing matters
  • Carrying out transactions aligned to the operational requirements of a national infrastructure client.
