Nottinghamshire Team. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work flexibly and creatively to establish what is needed to have the most positive impact for all who are referred to our service.

Responsibilities:


About the role:


  • To provide regular supervision and line management to identified team members and contribute to the delivery of a quality service.
  • To develop and maintain excellent working relationships with appropriate local partners to ensure quality delivery.
  • To support and guide the team to assess clients, prepare individual plans and motivate service users to actively engage.
  • To ensure that the team has a dynamic outreach approach and are constantly seeking out areas of need and employing appropriate responses.
  • To ensure equality of service provision throughout the service.
  • To uphold all CGL policies and procedures and actively promote equality of opportunity in the course of your work.
  • To maintain a safe and welcoming environment ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to.
  • To ensure regular consultation with service users.
  • To collaborate effectively with partner agencies and bring a proactive approach to partnership work.
  • To identify relevant partners and develop work strategies to ensure the needs of young people are being met.
  • To inspire and motivate team members to ensure an engaged and unified working culture.
  • To identify learning and development needs of team members and to support them in achieving their learning requirements.
  • To take a lead on performance management, utilising tools such as observed practise and implementing effective support and action plans where improvement needs are identified.
  • To develop internal strategies and processes the team will use to meet the requirements of the contract.
  • To work together with managers from Social Care, Youth Justice Service, and other relevant partners to develop activity within their services.
  • To monitor budget expenditure in conjunction with the Service manager in particular, client costs, staff expenses and phone and office costs.
  • To work with the service manager to maintain strong governance and monitoring systems.
  • To manage projects from beginning to completion demonstrating effective decisionmaking skills, delegation, risk management and evaluation.
  • To delegate workloads evenly and ensure contingencies are in place for busy periods.
  • To lead on safeguarding as the designated safeguarding lead and establish a learning environment where staff feel empowered to explore safeguarding issues, review the assessment of risk and identify cases for escalation with appropriate action taken.
  • To work with the service manager to ensure the child's voice is at the centre of all work carried out.
  • To train professionals internally and externally upon request and in relation to the issues surrounding YP substance misuse and impact of parental substance misuse (Hidden Harm).
  • To work collaboratively across the service with CGL colleagues such as psychologist, social workers, and recovery workers to ensure a joined up, all age family approach to achieve positive outcomes for families.
  • To attend relevant CGL forums
  • To undertake any other duties as instructed by the line manager/s that will contribute to fulfilling the project aims.

About you:


  • Experience of working with children and young people experiencing difficulties around Substance misuse.
  • Knowledge of the issues facing children, young people and their families affected by substance misuse.
  • Excellent knowledge of drugs and alcohol and their effects.
  • Line management experience including the delivery of reflective supervision.
  • The ability to lead, empower and motivate a team.
  • Experience of project management.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding policies and practices relating to children and young people and experience of embedding these operationally.
  • The ability to foster new partnerships and to maintain positive relationships with partner agencies.
  • Knowledge of a range of psychosocial and clinical interventions, including Motivational interviewing techniques and ITEP.
  • Knowledge and understanding around the 'Hidden Harm' agenda.
  • Knowledge and experience of communitybased support/outreach practices.
