We are recruiting for a Clerical Officer who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS.

We are looking for a highly motivated individuals to provide comprehensive reception/clerical support to the Diagnostic Imaging Department using a high level of initiative and discretion.


Excellent communication skills are vital as the post-holders will be required to liaise directly with patients, consultants and other hospital/external colleagues face-to-face, on the telephone and in writing.

Flexibility is required to cover peaks of workloads and provide cover to support the Admin Office as required. This includes bookings, Imaging reception and the Imaging Appointments Hotline. As a very busy department, there may be some evening and weekend rotational cover.


This role requires a willingness to work as part of a team as well as the ability to work unsupervised.


The ability to work under pressure, pay attention to detail and have excellent organisational skills are also necessary to manage the pressures of a very busy role.


To process all telephone enquiries from GPs and departments within this hospital for Radiology appointments and availability of examination reports.

To deal with patient and general enquiries, both in person and on the telephone, keeping relevant records.

Enter request forms onto the CRIS system

Scan all request forms

Open and distribute the post for the department.

Cover the reception desk, booking in patients and dealing with enquiries.

Deal with patient purchase of images, burning CDs/DVDs.

Send images to other hospitals using the IEP system

To undertake general clerical duties within all clerical sections, as directed by the Office Supervisor
