About the role


We're a great opportunity to join us as our Senior Technical Advisor within our Regional Control Centre (RCC) that provides an industry leading asset monitoring and response service.

The Senior Technical Advisor (STA) is pivotal in supporting control colleagues in both delivering and enhancing the service.

You'll be responsible for the management and development of the companywide Alarm Management Strategy Plan, ensuring all aspects are delivered and best practice is followed by the team and the rest of the operational business.


Our RCC are reliant on having excellent processes and systems and the STA is pivotal in the development and delivery of these including Production Plan, Coordination Plan, Deviation / Change Permits and Water Resource Management Plan to name a few.


You'll support the development of the IT systems used by the team such as SCADA, Aquadapt and the Alarm Management System, along with monitoring the effectiveness of these systems and provide reports from them to key stakeholder departments including water, wastewater, maintenance and water quality.


We're looking for you to support the Regional Control Centre Team Manager by providing ongoing technical assistance and advice to him and the team and technical and water network support in the team managers absence or during operational incidents and events.


About you


We're looking for you to have proven track record of working with and leading others to implement highly technical solutions across the operational areas supported by the Regional Control Centre of water, wastewater, and customer.

You'll be able to demonstrate experience in interrogating large datasets, using these analytical capabilities, to both support the day to day running of the strategic water networks and on numerous continuous improvement projects linked to the development of the Regional Control Centre (RCC)


As the RCC provides a service across the whole of the operational business and relies on external partners for support it is important to have experience of working with numerous stakeholders, being able to demonstrate the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing effectively to improve stakeholder engagement internally and externally.


You'll have proven high levels of technical and analytical aptitude and can pragmatic and innovative in your problem-solving ability to encourage a continuous improvement culture.

You'll ideally be qualified to degree level in a technical discipline or have the equivalent operational experience at a supervisory level.
