Description
The Receptionist will support the Administration and Clinical team to provide a positive, patient-centred service.Participate in the administration rota to ensure the smooth running of the Practice.
Process requests for repeat and acute medication via the telephone messaging service, prescription box and through online services.
Provide reception cover on rotation in junction with the administration team.
To direct patient queries appropriately to the relevant clinician including GPs, nurses and the pharmacy team.
To ensure patient medication requests are dealt with accurately and disseminated to the appropriate preferred pharmacy.
Provide advice for new patients wishing to register with the practice, ensuring the relevant documentation is received.
Providing information regarding patient tests and procedures as per practice protocols.
To deal with internal/external telephone enquiries, taking accurate messages and where possible assisting callers or direct calls to the appropriate individual.
To process new patient records including data input of summarised patient records.
To maintain childhood immunisation records and appointment system.
Update Out of Hours GP rota and relay any changes as appropriate.
Report IT faults and liaise with system providers when necessary.
Implement prescriptions security policy.
Process requests for appointments with nursing staff.
Request updated information as required from patients i.e. smoking status, weight
Liaise with other departments & hospitals as requested.
To process incoming mail by distributing to the appropriate individuals when required.
Provide advice in relation to relevant charges for private services, accept payment and issue receipts.
To provide adequate support and cover for colleague's in their absence i.e. annual leave or sickness. Adhere to practice policies and procedures.
