We have an immediately available opportunity for a
Ganger in Cornwall & Devon to join our Utilities, South West Water team - where no two days are the same


Salary:
Weekly paid hourly rate of
£11.50 to £16.00, dependant on experience and posted location. With the potential to significantly increase your take-home package with standby, call-out, and overtime.

All hours worked on standby will be paid at x 1.9
(£ £30.40), overtime rates vary between x x 1.9.

Standby payments are additional (not hourly) at
£20-£45 and call out from
£10-£40.


_Some of our Ganger high earners can take home up to circa £60k, based on additional overtime and standby worked. If you are saving for an occasion or simply want to take home more, the opportunity for overtime/call-out/standby is regularly available._

Location:

Cornwall and Devon (South West): Tolgus, Truro, Redruth, Barnstaple, Exeter, St Austell, Bodmin, Okehampton, Roche, Plymouth Hatherleigh and Paignton as well as Bournemouth.


Travel:

We will provide accommodation and a food allowance for those who are living away from home -
£60 per night accommodation and
£20 for food or we can take care of accommodation with
£30 a day for food and drink.

We can also offer flexible work patterns & days to allow you to get back home


The role:

As a
Ganger for the South West Water team you will work on repairs and maintenance services to provide reliable, efficient, and high-quality drinking water and wastewater services


Your day-to-day will include:

  • Mains laying, pressure management, district metering and large and complex mains repairs
  • Taking personal responsibility for Health & Safety performance, overall quality of work and meeting productivity targets
  • Coordinating all site activities

Who are we looking for?

  • Someone with prior utilities experience and Streetworks Excavation and Reinstatement NRSWA qualification
  • A full UK Driving Licence
