I am working exclusively with a reputable membership body, which represents the interests of small and mid-sized quoted companies.

My client is renowned for informing policy dialogue with regulatory and government on a range of issues relating to leadership,technology and investment; enabling business to grow and deliver sustainable long-term benefits for investors and wider society.

My client is looking to hire a 'Policy and Research Manager' on a permanent basis (paying £42,000).

As a 'Policy and Research Manager', you will be lead on creation and implementation of key reports and publications for the organisation, whilst providinga robust evidence base to support the organisation's work.

This is an exciting new role and would be suited to a policy professional with a background in the financial services sector.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform horizon scanning activities to monitor market, political and regulatory arenas whilst developing a strategy for key policy outputs.
  • Conducting in house research. Analysing policy topics, political trends, datasets and regulatory developments, to ensure policy recommendations are based by solid evidence.
  • Working on consultation responses in collaboration with members to ensure policy proposals are aligned to strategic objectives.
  • Drafting highquality reports, presentations, infographics and other materials.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with key partner organisations.
  • Contributing to surveys on policy and market issues to help inform campaigns and policy consultation responses and campaign roll out.
  • Collaborating with other industry bodies and stakeholders.

Person Criteria

  • Experienced in policy development within the financial services sector.
  • Knowledge or experience of working within the context of a membership body.
  • Strong research skills, with an ability to analyse statistical information and trends whilst presenting research results in an accessible way.
  • Credible with senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • An inquisitive mind, able to grasp technical information quickly and develop concepts into finished articles.
