This is a superb opportunity to develop your career in Business Administration by joining our developing Care Group management team in Anaesthetics, Critical Care & Theatres at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, based in Truro.


As Care Group Business Administrator, you will hold a key role in supporting the Care Group Management Team by providing a range of administrative and business services to enable the effective operation of the team.

Working for the General Manager, Head of Nursing and Clinical Director, you will be organising diaries; booking and taking notes for meetings; providing a telephone reception service for the Care Group; maintaining data files and databases and undertaking correspondence.


You will have an important role in representing the Care Group to callers and visitors and will have the opportunity to work with a variety of teams, both within and external to the Trust, whilst developing your knowledge and skills in the hospital environment.

A high level of commitment to the Care Group and the ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive information will be essential.


Work with a range of Trust information systems as required to create correspondence; record and check data to book appointments and meetings and to answer queries.

The post holder will be expected to undertake training, as required, to develop their computer skills to meet current IT literacy standards.

Act as the main point of administrative contact for the Care Group providing diary management, undertaking workload organisation, arranging meetings, coordinating meeting papers, taking meeting notes, preparing reports under direction, and undertaking ad hoc administrative projects as


Creating and monitoring action logs and action plans from meetings and reports and ensuring follow up communication with the accountable action owners to support timely delivery on actions.


Prioritising queries and bringing issues of concern to the attention of relevant staff in a timely manner, plus subsequently acting on any management instruction.

Generating, sorting, distributing and prioritising internal / external post/ records.

Using RSA keyboard skills and audio-typing (or equivalent skills) to produce specialist and routine correspondence or documents.
