Willow are looking for a Data Officer who can use their data, attention to detail and analytical skills to support the delivery of more than 1,000 Special Days, Breaks and Treats for our beneficiaries each year.

Your insight will support us to drive income generation and our case for support.

Job purpose


Working with your fundraising colleagues you will have primary oversight and responsibility for the maintenance of the Raiser's Edge NXT database; along with helping ensure smooth, frictionless data processes to deliver the best experience to our donors, fundraisers and beneficiaries.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will set data standards and KPIs, and provide insight and analysis, all of which will support the rest of the team to deepen Willow's relationships with supporters.

Your work supports the Fundraising department in ensuring that the annual income target is met or surpassed.


Key responsibilities

Database maintenance

  • Keep the database uptodate using accurate data entry and data cleaning, in line with existing processes
  • Working with team managers, updating processes as required
  • Supporting the Finance team to ensure that donations from a variety of sources are recorded promptly on Raisers Edge NXT and able to cover these processes during busy times
  • Supporting the Supporter Care Assistant and Community Fundraising Assistant to ensure supporters are thanked in the right way and in a timely manner and able to cover these processes during busy times
  • Assist all Fundraising and Special Days teams in the creation and running of queries on the database
  • Responsibility for training new staff and monitoring existing staff to ensure that all database procedures and data entry guidelines are adhered to
  • Ensure that all Willow's information about individuals is compliant with the UK GDPR and to keep informed of changes and developments in Data Protection law. To ensure all direct marketing communications are legally compliant, advising the team as necessary

Insight and analysis

  • Support teams in the delivery of their activities by working collaboratively to understand their needs, managing the data selection and analysis briefing process; advising on segmentation based on insight and analysis; and ensuring quality supporter and beneficiary experiences are designed in all of our activities and processes
  • Support Fundraising teams to actively seek out opportunities to deepen relationships using data insight, by cross and up selling of engagement opportunities Help fundraising colleagues to ensure our activities represent the view of the supporter and beneficiary at all times, so that we are actively delivering our activity based on what we know about supporters
  • To produce campaign results within agreed timeframes to support an evidence based culture and refining the campaign management process
  • To produce regular database trend reports and annual database audits

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience of using database software and relational databases, e.g. Raisers Edge
  • Experience of building reports and analyzing data in Excel, or other packages
  • Strong data management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Strong numeracy skills and ability to forecast and analyse fundraising results
  • A methodical approach to data and a good eye for detail
  • Innovative outlook and willingness to suggest new ideas
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a varied workload
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work and to meet deadlines

Desirable

  • Experience of fundraising database Raisers Edge NXT

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 22.5 per week

Up to £15,600.00 per year
