Finance Assistant


The company

The role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be responsible for


Responsibilities

  • Creation and management of sales invoice and sales contract management database
  • Administration of sales, purchase and nominal ledgers (Xero) including, credit control and purchase authorisation procedures
  • Bank account postings and reconciliation, including management of invoice discounting facility
  • Management of company credit cards
  • Updating weekly cash flow forecast
  • Submission of VAT returns
  • Creation of purchase ledger payment files in internet banking for director authorisation
  • Posting accruals, prepayments, asset depreciation and other month end journals (Xero)
  • Producing management accounts using preprepared Excel template
  • Assisting with such ad hoc financial analysis as may be required from time to time
  • Liaison with external accountant regarding year end accounts and corporation tax computations
  • Diary management and other administrative support for the CFO.

Essential skills

  • Previous experience of working in a Finance Manager or Management Accountant role
  • Experience of working in a fastpaced, fast growth business environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised, and under your own initiative
  • Highly numerate, with a keen analytical approach to work
  • Strong communication skills verbal, including presentations, and written.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the Xero accounting package
  • Experience of operating an invoice discounting facility

Useful information


The first stage in the recruitment process for this role will be a 30-minute Teams interview with our CFO and HR Coordinator.

Successful applicants will then progress to the second and final stage, a 45-minute in-person interview with the CFO and HR Coordinator at our offices in Cardiff.
