Marketing Executive, Academic Marketing
The opportunity
This role is a fantastic opportunity for a marketer to work on innovative promotional campaigns within the busy marketing team of a global academic publisher.
The role
- Implementation of UK/ROW (i.e. all territories outside Americas, India and Australia) marketing strategy, spend and budget for the History list
- Work with Sales, Student Learning and Bloomsbury Digital Resources (Churchill Archive,
Bloomsbury History:
Theory & Method, Bloomsbury Cultural History) teams to deliver results-driven, creative marketing campaigns to drive adoptions, usage, engagement, brand-recognition and sales of print and eBooks
- Improving discoverability online through optimising marketing copy and data
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Essential _
- Books marketing experience, ideally within academic publishing
- Direct experience of organising or assisting with all or most of the following:
- Budgeting/planning and monitoring budget spend
- Direct mail campaigns, including commissioning design, mail and print
- Conference attendance/planning/producing lists/organising inserts
- Proofreading and copywriting
- Strong interpersonal skills, with experience of building and maintaining relationships both internally and externally
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation and a good eye for detail
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Desirable _
- Good understanding of the latest developments in higher education and the publishing industry
- An understanding of academic adoption sales cycles
- Experience of devising creative/experimental campaigns under own initiative
Additional information
The role is a full-time permanent position based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).
Allocated office days for this role are:
Wednesday and Thursday.
