Operating as somewhat of a boutique practice, this insurance consultancy partners with some of world's best known insurance brokers to deliver sophisticated risk transfer solutions to ultra-complex clients from such diverse sectors as Energy, Agricultureand Mining.

It has developed in-house analytics and modelling tools that deliver truly unique insights into risks, and its size means that it can quickly adapt to clients' requirements and market conditions.

From our lengthy discussions with this firm, it is clear that it is staffed by a team that are genuinely passionate about insurance and as such, finding an Insurance Technician that shares its enthusiasm for the industry is key in this role.

Clearly, such akeen interest in insurance will lead to curiosity about this firm's activities and its clients' operations, and it's natural that you will want to expand your role and duties as you progress within the company.


The role requires drawing on a wide range of administrative and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work well with clients and other stakeholders in the business.

This means the ability to juggle multiple priorities related to client needs,data/ information, document production, working to deadlines, and driving process improvements.


Responsibilities:


  • Responding to enquiries from clients, brokers and underwriters in a courteous and helpful manner and ensuring that all information required is obtained and communicated.
  • Recording all accounts receivable, commission and client premiums and ensuring that these are paid within credit terms.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of KPI's and/ or any other Management Information from clients, brokers, and underwriters.
  • Assisting with the preparation of SLA's and TOBA's as required.


  • Claims funds

  • Dealing with insurers and clients in respect of setting up and maintenance of claims funds, if applicable.
  • Providing administrative and operational support including preparation of slips, endorsements, policy wordings and invoices.
  • Checking policies and insurance documentation, as appropriate.
  • Managing claim files and reviewing loss adjuster reports.
  • Assisting the team/ business in developing a claims management system.
  • Assisting with the loading of data onto the relevant client risk management systems (such as Riskonnect).
  • Ensuring compliance with group procedures and external compliance regulations.
  • Supporting the overall operational governance and decisionmaking process.
  • Organising travel arrangements if needed.


You will have an understanding of the London and international insurance market practices, ideally coupled with a sound general knowledge of various commercial covers.

You must pride yourself on the quality of work you undertake, have excellent attentionto detail, and be able to produce a variety of reports and documentation to a very high standard.

You must also be highly numerate, and confident in using a variety of IT platforms (including MS Excel).


This firm is based in the City of London, but operates a flexible-working model, which will allow you to work from home several days per week.
