Business Improvement Engineer

  • Dealing with processing problems that occur within manufacturing by implementing remedial actions and ensuring that effective countermeasures are put in place.
  • Working with other teams to develop procedures that will result in achieving key manufacturing targets.
  • Delivering Variation Control improvements using best practises and introducing relevant SOPs.
  • Reducing scrap and improving OEE across the entire site using business improvement, lean and Six Sigma methods.
  • Sourcing suitable and costeffective equipment.
  • Monitoring and achieving savings identified through the introduction of new equipment and processes.
  • Supporting the development and innovation of new products by closely collaborating with Managers and other departments.
  • Performing Factory Experiments and Production Trials and completing all associated documentation in a timely manner.
  • Using computer aided design package to design tooling and factorybased improvement designs.
  • Managing documented systems and databases.
  • Project Management involving the fundamentals of Gantt charts, budget control and design stages.
  • Developing and conducting process and equipment training courses and producing associated course material.
  • Ensuring control and measurement systems are implemented and used appropriately.

Business Improvement Engineer

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications:


  • A-C (or equivalent) English and Math's G.C.S.E.'s.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Prior experience within a manufacturing/shop floor environment.

Business Improvement Engineer

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications:


  • Further education, NVQ's, A levels, Engineering or Polymer Qualification etc
  • Lean training, green belt, Six Sigma etc.
  • Experience of British Standards and governing boards.
