The Postgraduate Medical Education Co-Ordinator is an integral part of a small friendly administration team based at the Postgraduate Medical Centre.

The team support doctors rotating into training placements, particularly foundation doctors and share the responsibility of maintaining a professional educational environment.


We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic person to provide a comprehensive and varied administrative and secretarial service and someone who is keen to expand their knowledge in the field of medical education.


You will need to be able to focus on your work in a busy environment and be able to multi-task and re-prioritise work regularly.


Besides excellent communication, diplomacy and administration skills, you will be expected to help prepare teaching rooms, move furniture and check equipment to ensure the smooth running of teaching sessions and educational events.

  • The post holder will need to have specialist knowledge of medical education, particularly the Foundation Training Programme which will be acquired when working within the role
  • Coordination of various teaching programmes and events held within the centre.
  • Maintaining registration and attendance records for those attending teaching.
  • Ensure certification and summarize feedback from teaching sessions.
  • Administer the Horus ePortfolio for all Foundation trainees and nontraining grade doctors who require a portfolio.
  • To provide secretarial and administrative support to the Medical Education Manager, Foundation Programme Directors and other Medical Education Leads.
  • To coordinate interviews for incoming Foundation Doctors.
  • To coordinate the annual induction and shadowing arrangements for Foundation Doctors.
  • To support all Foundation Doctors and ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the Foundation Programme, whilst in placement at Wye Valley NHS Trust.
  • To organize and take minutes of meetings and forums.
  • To prepare all materials and records in line with quality assurance processes for the Foundation Training Programme.
  • To operate the Centre's diary and room booking system in line with policies and procedures.
  • To ensure that all equipment, including audio visual equipment meets the needs of individual speakers, teachers and tutors who are facilitating teaching sessions.
