West Yorkshire Police as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) is looking to recruit an Accreditation Officer to be based at Calder Park, Wakefield.

This is an excellent opportunity to join this specialist team and provide support to the Regional Accreditation and Standards Manager in the delivery and management of the RSSS Quality Management System.

You will ensure compliance with current ISO standards (e.g.

ISO 17020, to enable the provision of an efficient and effective forensic service to Police Forces in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

We are looking for applicants with strong supervisory skills with experience of problem solving and working to timescales within an operational environment.

You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to be able to check, prepare and present reports.

In addition, you will hold a current full driving licence with access to your own vehicle and be prepared to use it for business purposes.

You must be prepared to work flexibly to suit business needs and travel throughout the Yorkshire and Humber area as required.

A staff member can request to receive accelerated incremental progression after a minimum of 6 months in role if they consider that they can evidence the expertise in role requirements at level 2 or 3, and if they believe that they have demonstrated excellent performance.

If agreement is given to award accelerated incremental progression this may be backdated for up to 6 months from the date of the request.
