The University and its Estates & Facilities area is undergoing a period of sustained change as we look to modernise and digitise our services, processes, systems and procedures to meet the demands of the changing internal and external environment.


The role of the Estates and Facilities area is to support delivery of the University of Hull's strategic plan by providing world class facilities that are sustainable, functionally suitable and well maintained across the Estate which is circa 250,000m2.


Estates and Facilities are looking to recruit a Site Services Assistant who will help to deliver business goals and provide the very best service to University of Hull students.

As a Site Services Assistant within the student residences, you will be responsible for maintaining a fire response, security, porter and cleaning service to students, staff and guests of the University.


Specifically the post holder will:


  • Work set shifts on set days reporting to the Accommodation and Operations Manager the post holder will be responsible for undertaking reception, post, emergency fire response, building evacuation, and portering duties to agreed timescales and standards
  • Work effectively and flexibly as part of a team with a diverse range of customers
  • Provide a customer focused service, approach and attitude, in all circumstances
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety guidelines
  • Experience of working in a similar environment.
  • Must be willing to undertake all training necessary for the post
  • Exemplary team working is critical to this role as is the ability to communicate with a wide range of staff, students and stakeholders.

Working Pattern:

We are recruiting for two positions; 1 x 32 hours a week and 1 x 24 hours a week.

The successful applicants will be expected to work 4 (32 hour post) or 3 (24 hour post) nights out of 7 nights 00:00-08:00.

The positions are for 52 weeks of the year.
