Job Description:


With strong demand for bespoke drive and control solutions, within the Factory Automation division, increasing numbers of customers are relying on us to be their technical partners providing cutting edge resolutions to complex system problems.

Application areas include sectors as diverse as automotive, aerospace, food, packaging and printing, instrumentation and even F1.


As a graduate trainee you will bring your expertise in mechanical engineering and design to the role, as we want you to be able to get involved straight away.

The tasks you work on will vary as you develop, and will be dependent on customer need, but once you have completed your initial training a typical week could include the following:


  • Creating custom designs to fulfill customer specifications for new solutions.
  • Creation of sales and relevant project documents.
  • Project and process management including implementation, verification, validation and customer specific commissioning.


Once fully established within an integrated engineering team, you will be responsible for producing quotations and engineering systems for defined industry sectors that support the achievement of sales and profit targets and the provision of superior service, in a high quality, timely, cost-effective and resource-efficient way.


Using our wide variety of catalogue components you will produce general assembly and detail drawings of frame guards, conveyor systems and custom aluminium assemblies.

You will be comfortable with talking and dealing with both internal and external customers both on site and at their premises.

You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work both independently and within the team, within tight deadlines and target budgets.

As part of your training you will have a placement at another site for 6-12 months to enable you to develop to widen your network and broaden your knowledge into a range of areas from factory automation through to industrial hydraulics.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Degree in a relevant discipline. eg Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering
  • Strong experience of 3D CAD tools
  • Able to take responsibility for your own development and complete the required training and evidence of training.
  • Good planning and documenting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good standard of written and spoken English
  • Able to understand customer expectations and deliver to deadlines.
  • Must be prepared to travel and stay overnight on a regular basis
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable

  • Working knowledge of MS Office packages
  • Additional language skills
