• Gate Posting
• Gate Guarding during school hours
• Inspect vacant spaces between gates or buildings for safety or security
• Close gates as necessary to prevent entrance from outside
• Ensure doors are closed properly and that locks are engaged
• Inspect buildings for fire, life safety or health and environmental protection regulations
• Close buildings as necessary to prevent fire escape or escape from a building
• Perform crowd control measures (such as helping keep the area clean)
• Aid in security clearance procedures for visitors or persons who do not appear to be authorized
• Other duties as assigned

• Must be able to handle large crowds with good public relations skills. Must be able to identify dangerous situations and communicate these safely with appropriate staff.
• Must be able to inspect empty spaces between gates and fences. Identify safety issues and document information on forms according to company policy.
• Knowledge of legal guidelines related to security access and public safety.
• Knowledge of how to conduct basic inspections of doors, windows, lockers, etc.

• Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
