Description
About us
McGowan Transcriptions
McGowan Transcriptions was founded in 1993 by Joe McGowan and we're the number one name for transcriptions in the UK.
We transcribe everything from in-depth one-to-one interviews to group discussions with a wide variety of people, on hundreds of topics throughout the country/globe.
Our clients conduct very in-depth analysis of the transcripts we provide, which is why our quality has to be extremely high.
Our reputation is based largely on the exceptional work of our team. The main tasks for this role are:
- Downloading completed transcripts and checking these against the client template to ensure the correct formatting has been used.
- Check that there are no spelling mistakes and the correct grammar has been used.
- Spot check the transcript against the audio file every five minutes for context and accuracy.
- If the transcriber has marked any unclears in a transcript (these will be timestamped in the document) you will need to listen to every instance and see if you can fill the word in.
- If amendments are required before the transcript can be sent to the client, you will need to send feedback to the transcriber who worked on the file.
This is an extremely pressurized role as we can only afford a certain number of minutes per transcript so the ability to work well under pressure is a must.
