Description

Call for Expressions of Interest
**The RSA is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals to help with our fundraising activities in 2024.

Context
**We are a 270-year old social change organisation on a mission to enable people, places and planet to flourish. Our income comes from Fellowship subscriptions, hospitality and events, and a range of trusts and foundations and funding partners. As we embark on our Design for Life Strategy, we are seeking to explore new income streams to support our charitable work. We now wish recruit a senior fundraising consultant to deliver short-term fundraising campaigns and lay the foundations for long-term fundraising efforts.

What we're looking for
**We are seeking a senior fundraising consultant on a short-term basis, envisaging June - September. This person would work as a contractor and we are seeking an individual rather than agency. The person would have significant experience in charity fundraising, in both developing and implementing fundraising asks and campaigns. In particular, we are looking for an individual with a demonstrable track record in individual giving and major donor campaigns. This individual would have senior/managerial experience in fundraising efforts, to ensure they can be credible with significant internal and external stakeholders and to work effectively across the RSA. They would be an excellent, persuasive writer and have experience in delivering major fundraising campaigns and events with a significant return on investment. They would also have expertise in developing fundraising asks and value propositions for charities and leading the implementing of campaigns around these. Experience using a fundraising database or CRM system would also be helpful.

Deliverables

The senior fundraising consultant would work across the RSA, sitting in the Fellowship team but working closely with our Strategic Partnerships and Communications teams.

They would be integral to the creation and launch of fundraising efforts this summer relating to our 270-year anniversary and in improving our efforts to secure legacies to support the RSA's work.

They would also work to embed fundraising asks across key RSA communications and events.

The key deliverables are:

  • Producing a case for support articulating current fundraising asks effectively, particularly for core funding.
  • Creating, launching and securing donations from a fundraising campaign based around our 270year anniversary.
  • Creating and delivering a legacy campaign to secure new legacies from our Fellows.
  • Embedding fundraising asks, where appropriate, across RSA activities, events and assets, such as incorporating fundraising asks into upcoming events, developing our website copy and fundraising asks and setting up donation touchpoints around RSA House.
  • Identifying and approaching potential major donors within the Fellowship.
  • Establishing prospects for a fundraising committee of Fellows to support fundraising efforts on an ongoing basis.
Some of this work is already in process, or there are building blocks to work from. The Senior Fundraising Consultant would use their experience and expertise to build off this and secure tangible results.
