As the Head of Legal, you will be a key member of the legal leadership team for the Primark group, responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the global legal department.

Reporting directly to the Legal Director, you will play a critical role in shaping and implementing the legal strategy for the ESG & Regulatory pillar across the Primark estate.

You will also lead a team of solicitors and effectively manage legal and regulatory risks across the Primark business.

As part of the Primark global legal team, you will work closely with senior leaders both within our business and in our parent company ABF plc.

You will provide commercially pragmatic advice on a broad spectrum of issues and will influence strategic and operational decision making across the entire Primark business.

What You'll Do:

In your role, you'll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets.

Here's a flavour of your day-to-day:

Lead and develop a high performing team that provides support across the entire Primark business.
Create and build an agile strategy that champions functional excellence whilst improving the operational effectiveness of the team.
Provide rigorous and robust legal advice, guidance and counsel to senior leaders in Primark and ABF regarding Environmental, Social, Governance & Regulatory matters.
Collaborate and influence strategic and operational decision making of senior stakeholders within the Primark and ABF business.
Determine the strategy for dealing with all Regulator interactions across the Primark group and lead on these matters whilst ensuring inputs from key stakeholders are taken into account.
Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations and ensure the company's compliance, proactively identifying legal risks and opportunities.
Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of a variety of agreements, contracts, and legal documents, ensuring they protect the business, maximise value and mage legal risk.
Develop and articulate the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of the ESG & regulatory pillar in alignment with Primark's overall goals and values.
Provide strategic guidance to the executive team and other stakeholders on legal matters, helping to inform decisionmaking, drive successful outcomes, mitigating legal and regulatory risk effectively.

What You'll Bring

Qualified Solicitor with at least 12 + years PQE.
Must have experience of private practice in Ireland or any part of the UK.
Experience advising on ESG & Regulatory matters preferably across multiple jurisdictions
Broad general commercial experience preferably with a volume retailer with international presence.
Excellent leader and trusted advisor with extensive experience of developing senior business relationships and shaping and underpinning business strategies.
