Early Years & Childcare Capital Project Co-ordinator in
Barry.

Contract based role starts from 18/09/2023 till 31/03/202- Working with key stakeholders, implement early years and childcare capital grant funding for the purpose of supporting the development of quality childcare across.


  • Working along with Childcare providers, multiagency partners, local Authority colleagues, Schools, CWLWM partners.
  • To lead on the management and monitoring of current planned and any new projects, reporting to the Strategic Childcare & Early Years Manager and Flying Start Manager on each stage of development.
  • Attend all meetings with Welsh government officials necessary to meet requirements
project requirements.

  • Assist in monitoring teaching and learning, deliver curriculum and learning environments in groups, and monitor areas of development to improve practice.
  • To be the key link in developing the Tendering process, working closely with Procurement and Legal Departments to ensure service specification of provision required is met and agreements are in place between the local authority, School, and Childcare Provider.
  • Produce quarterly reports with detailed facts and cuttingedge data, Development status, issues, next steps until management team meeting and relevant board meetings.
  • Contribute to school development plans, including cost calculations.
  • Manage administration of successful and unsuccessful grant offer letters and monitor spend in compliance with grant terms and conditions.
  • To administer the Early Years and Childcare capital grant programme of projects and small grants scheme ensuring the development of the projects meet requirements for grant awarded.
  • Manage and monitor the programme for the development of the projects and small grants scheme consulting with all key stakeholders through the process.
  • Other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grade and in accordance with the general character of the job as may reasonably be required by the Chief Officer from time to time.
  • Current and active CPR/First Aid Certifications.
  • Minimum 2yrs experience in acombination of programming and implementing early years recreation, sports and or childhood education for ages 6 months to 5 years.
  • Minimum one year experience in a nursery or kindergarten.
  • 1 year experience of special needs programming strongly preferred.
