We have a great opportunity to join Avanti West Coast as a Senior Commercial Revenue Strategy Manager within the commercial team. The role will be based in London.**

Purpose of the role:


  • Set our commercial revenue strategy over the next 5 years. Identify new revenue streams as well as enabling growth from through the strategic development of our Business.
  • Maximise the commercial benefit of a demand based timetable, through identifying opportunities to improve the allocation of resources to increase profitability.
  • Protect income already received through ownership of the Roving RPI and fraud detection teams, to ensure a minimisation of losses.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage all commercial outputs related to timetable developments, ensure the fares structure is fit for purpose and own the ancillary product commercial strategy.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Lead the development of commercial timetable specifications for significant amendments to the timetable due to engineering work or events. Coordinate crossfunctional engagement.
  • Using the Moira and Moira 2 systems, produce outputs based on timetable iterations to support decision making across the Business.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the Operations Team in order to prepare proposals and business cases for changes to the Commercial timetable to allocate our rolling stock.
  • Review commercial specifications based on deliverability studies by the Operations Team and determine the impacts of changes to the revenue assumptions.
  • Identify new income opportunities for AWC, through Fares product development, fares setting and ancillary product development, working across commercial and the wider business.
  • Lead the strategy for the roving Revenue Protection team and their targeted actions, including continued iterations of activities.

Person specification:


  • Strong understanding of timetable planning and opportunities and if possible, the complexities of diagramming
  • Understanding of industry revenue allocations and implications of timetabling developments on this
  • Ability to understand, analyse and interpret large data sets
  • Significant experience of analysing data and forecasting
