The role
As a Project Planner, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

Babcock provides services including fleet time engineering, facilities management, waterfront services, logistics and transport within an agreed operating budget, firmly focused on continuous and sustainable improvement in warship and submarine support.


Day to day, you'll utilise your project planning, scheduling and control skills to ensure we deliver our Submarine maintenance projects on time without forgoing safety, performance, quality and are meeting our cost targets.


  • Compile Project Management Plan (PMP) from an agreed Work Package Scope on multiple Vessel Systems, working with a wide range of teams from different engineering disciplines.
  • Assist Project Manager's in maximising the utilisation and the efficiency of all the Project Management resource.
  • Ensure that maintenance plans are developed and agreed as the work package evolves.
  • Liaise closely with vessels, shore departments and MOD customers (Internal and External) as required to deliver required outputs


This role is full time and permanent at 37 hours per week and will be based at HMNB Clyde, Helensburgh with hybrid working from home arrangements.


Essential experience of the Project Planner:

  • Proven experience of working with Primavera P6 would be advantageous however, experience of other planning tools will be considered.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience within the construction industry would be ideal however, other highly regulated industries will be considered.

Qualifications for the Project Planner:

Ideally you will hold one or more of the following the qualifications:

  • APM Project Fundamentals Qualification
  • Project Planning and ControlPPC Foundations (APMG)
  • Change Management Foundation (APMG)
  • Primavera 106P Advanced Project Management
  • Primavera 106R Resource Management
