  • This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Customer and Engagement Team. We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual who is passionate about making a difference.

Our Officers play a vital role in protecting the Area's reputation and helping teams work with and influence our customers.

You'll deliver a first class service so that our customers get their enquiries and requests for information dealt with as efficiently and effectively as possible.

You'll work with the rest of team to meet deadlines and you'll work with colleagues across the area to provide information and answer questions from a wide range of customers on just about every topic we deal with, from flooding to fisheries, water quality to waste and everything in between.

You will be expected to have an incident role. This could be by standby rota or an incident activated basis.

They use their knowledge and technical skills to work with colleagues to answer our customer's questions and ensure they are given the service they are entitled to and expect.


  • Experience/skills required The ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Be able to work flexibly, manage your own workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience of coping well under pressure and responding to changing priorities
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act and Environmental Information Regulations would be an advantage
