The NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHSCFA) is the national body responsible for all matters relating to the prevention, detection and investigation of economic crime across the NHS.

The successful applicant will have experience of managing and co-ordinating a programme of strategic intelligence research, identifying the likely nature and scale of both likely economic crime and security threats facing the NHS both now and in the future.


To develop, manage and co-ordinate a programme of strategic intelligence research which identifies the likely nature and scale of both likely economic crime and security threats facing the NHS both now and in the future.

Support the development of tactical intelligence in identified areas of priority to inform to crime reduction strategies and to identify gaps in NHSCFA's knowledge of crime risks and to make recommendations as to how these can be filled.


To maintain highly developed specialist knowledge and to use this to lead the NHSCFA in criminal intelligence and strategic crime analysis as it relates to economic crime, security, and the NHS.


To have day to day responsibility for the development, revision and drafting of an annual strategic intelligence assessment of the current and emerging fraud, corruption and security risks facing the NHS.


To identify key risks and make recommendations upon priorities, to inform and drive the strategic direction and planning of NHSCFA, DHSC and the wider NHS the next twelve months and beyond.


To identify through research and evaluation the intelligence gaps that impact upon NHSCFA's ability to define and forecast economic crime and security threats to the NHS and wider health group.
