- About the role
This role has a range of responsibilities with a number of core features that are consistent across all leadership roles at the College.
- To provide creative and dynamic leadership which will create a culture based on the following key values:

- establishing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships promoting an ethos which values, supports and encourages all College staff in the delivery of organisational goals;
- contributing to the development and maintenance of effective communication within the College.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and management of Student Services (including admissions, careers information, advice and guidance, enrichment, enrolment and reception), Marketing, Work Experience, BeSafe and Counselling provision.
- Drive a culture of excellence and customer focus both through the student support services and across the College.
- Represent the College on appropriate committees and working groups at local and regional level in line with strategic and operational objectives and build on the College's reputation.
- Develop and support the delivery of a holistic, outstanding and distinctive student experience so that students have a seamless and integrated high quality College experience.
- A key part of this role is being the Designated Lead for Safeguarding.
As Safeguarding Lead the responsibility is:
- To lead the safeguarding team, ensuring members are appropriately trained and supported.
- To proactively champion protection issues in the College by acting as a source of support, advice and expertise.
- To coordinate any action on child and vulnerable adult protection concerns, except those involving any allegation against a member of staff which should be reported directly to the Principal
- Set the strategy for Marketing and Communications, developing a culture of continuous improvement, inspiring and enabling people to work with commitment and competence to achieve specific targets.
Qualifications and training:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Experience as a deputy or designated safeguarding lead
- Its desirable you have a counselling, management, or Advice & Guidance qualification
Skills and expertise:
- Comprehensive understanding of the safeguarding principles, with experience of dealing with complex student and young people's welfare concerns
- Experience of leading and managing within a further education setting or other educational setting, delivering successful outcomes within set budgets and representing the college at external events, including the marketing to partner schools.
- An inspirational and motivational leader who is able to effectively communicate the vision and ethos of the College to stakeholders
