We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Secretary in the Community Paediatric Team based at Colchester Hospital.


We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who is flexible and has excellent typing, administration and communication skills.

You will need to ensure all clinical correspondence is typed and processed within specific timescales.

You will work as part of a friendly secretarial team, in a busy and vibrant office. You will need to be able to prioritise your workload, work without directs supervision and also use your initiative.

Consistent provision of comprehensive and efficient secretarial and administrative support.

To utilise and incorporate the required technology/hospital systems including Big Hand/Evolve/Medway and any other new technology or system(s) that are introduced.

To use your own initiative, managing, prioritising, planning and organising own time using extensive knowledge, skills and experience.


To be a 'Team Player' working in a way that encourages high performance from other staff, with the aim of maintaining optimum efficiency within the department.

To support other team members to deliver an efficient administrative and secretarial service

Duties will include typing of clinical correspondence, updating outcomes of clinical appointments, dealing with telephone queries, inputting data onto spreadsheets and other various tasks requested by the clinical team.
