Description
We are seeking a Procurement Category Manager for a globally leading Publishing business based in London.

As Category Manager, you will be responsible for Editorial, Travel and Marketing spends along with other exciting ad hoc projects that impact the world.


Please note:
Previous experience in managing Editorial spend is not a "must have".


Working in a small Procurement team, you will be working closely with business stakeholders, ensuring that category plans and sourcing activities are developed and delivered in line with corporate strategy.


This is a fantastic opportunity for the Category Manager to not only work for an organisation with over 200 million customer points on a daily basis but within an environment that is imperative to the successful running of the organisation, Procurement islooked at as imperative part of business operations and successful delivery.

As Procurement Category Manager - Travel and Marketing you will be:

  • Creating and maintaining internal relationships with key stakeholders across various parts of the business.
  • Be the single point of contact for spend across Editorial, Travel and Marketing.
  • Define and implement category plans and strategy in reference to business strategy.
  • Develop cost saving models and service enhancement opportunities across all Editorial, Travel and Marketing spends.
  • Lead sourcing projects that deliver value for the Procurement function and overall business
  • Lead on all commercial and contract negotiations
  • Manage various relationships across Editorial, Travel and Marketing suppliers
To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Strong background in end-to-end category management processes whilst also having the ability to deliver complex projects and manage large contracts.
  • Proactive mentality with the ability to operate in a flexible, creative and fast passed environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage across all layers of a business.
  • Experience in using esourcing and P2P solutions.
  • CIPS qualification would be highly advantageous although not essential.
