About the Role:
Mount Chambers Surgery has an opportunity for a receptionist to join our team on a full-time basis or we would possibly consider 2 x part-time applicants on a job-share basis.
In this essential front-line role at the practice, receptionists help patients to access the right services, assist with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date, and ensure that appointment bookings are well-managed as well as other administrative tasks.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Greeting and directing all patients;
- Making, changing and cancelling appointments for patients
- Accepting, issuing and handing out letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.;
- Dealing with requests for information, and managing problems and complaints;
- Advising patients of practice procedures;
- Registering new patients;
- Answering the telephone, promptly;
- Booking and managing waiting lists for specialist clinics e.g. family planning, joint injections etc;
- Giving our test results to patients.
- Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner;
- Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times;
- Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations;
- Confidence to work as part of a team and ability to "think on your feet";
- Strong IT and administration skills;
- Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
About Us:
Our surgery operates over 2 sites, our main site is at Coggeshall Road, Braintree with our branch surgery being in the new Livewell Hub building in Manor Street, Braintree.
Our current patient list size is circa 13,500 and we are part of Braintree Primary Care Network where we work collaboratively with the other surgeries in Braintree & Silver End.
