Job Ref:BAV2817Are you an experienced Bookkeeper with strong experience of using Xero, looking to work one day a week for a small yet high profile charity / not for profit organisation? Are you looking to carry out a high profile role within an established and well respected professional membership association with a turnover of £1.5m? Are you looking for a role which is part time, working one day a week with the option for home working once you have settled into the role? Reporting into the head of finance, your role will include: managing and recording all financial transactions of the business, journal entries, sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations, general ledger management, banking, making payments, staff expenses and any other duties as required by the organisation.

If you have experience of VAT returns, in the future you have the option to be responsible for the preparing the VAT returns, which could mean the role being two days a week if desired (this is optional).


To be considered for this newly created role (August 2023), it is likely you will be an experienced Bookkeeper looking for a part time role working at least one day a week.

You must live within commutable distance to Zone 1 London (the firm also has an office in Essex you could be based from short term).

You also MUST have experience of using Xero software.

You must also be able to work in a cloud based environment as all systems and processes are utilised using Xero.

It would be beneficial if you have worked for another professional membership organisation or charity / not for profit organisation, although an interest in this sector is fine.

The firm are based in an easily accessible location in Zone 1 Central London and you must be happy to work in the office until you are settled in the role, at which point the role will be more home based.


This small size professional membership organisation, which is a registered charity, is in need of a good quality, experienced Bookkeeper to assist maintain the financial transactions of the organisation.

The office is friendly and supportive, and you will work in a small, friendly, close knit team.

The role is expected to evolve over time and could include assuming more responsibility in areas such as VAT, payroll and management accounts (if desired).
