Cooks Blinds & Shutters Ltd are a successful family-owned Company, we have an opportunity for a experienced Group Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) Advisor.

The role for the key individual is to take responsibility for the day to day health, safety and environment activities of the Companies, ensuring all round high standards of health & safety are adopted achieved and maintained throughout.


Duties / Responsibilities

  • Advise on all Health & Safety practises for the entire company to include construction sites, transport, manufacturing, yard operations and workshops.
  • Perform internal and external SHE audits to assess project /operational compliance with applicable SHE regulatory requirements, corporate standards, or international standards.
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of Health & Safety management ensuring standardisation and adherence to best practice
  • Review, implement and maintain procedures to ensure safe working practices and compliance with Health & Safety legislation
  • Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and to identify hazards and allocating actions ensuring closure
  • Conduct and check risk assessments, considering how risk can be mitigated/minimised and train others to ensure ongoing maintenance
  • Conducting Environmental audits and inspections and ensure all policy and procedures are adhered to and to assist in the continual improvement plans
  • Ensure staff on site have the correct training, instruction and are competent to do the allocated work
  • Production and issue of standard risk & COSHH assessments, safe working procedures and tool box talks
  • Give advice, guidance, support, to promote a positive health and safety culture
  • Maintain accreditations to external bodies such as Constructionline, Chas, Safe Contractor etc

Skills / Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Diploma level in Environmental management
  • Auditing Experience ISO14001/ISO 4500
  • Leadership and performance management including coaching & mentoring
  • Well motivated, reliable and competent
  • Numerate and analytical skills
  • Good Business and Product knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Competitive Salary dependent on Experience
Membership of Company Pension Scheme with Standard Life
Part-time 24 hours and as necessary to complete all activities.
Annual holiday entitlement.
The first 3 months will be treated as a probationary period.

Salary:
£15,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
