Test Automation Academy - Leeds Hybrid/Flexible
Answer Digital is an Employee-Owned digital transformation consultancy headquartered in Leeds.

We're looking to recruit our next cohort into our Automation Test Academy to join our existing, growing team of talented Test Consultants.

The Answer Digital Automation Testing Academy is a 12 week approx.

programme that equips talent with the most contemporary technical skills and process understanding, and fast tracks them to become project ready Answer Automation Test Engineers.


The Academy combines structured training, self-learning and hands-on Automation Testing, all while giving you the opportunity to understand the role of an automation tester within an agile delivery context.

The Academy will provide support in achieving a professional testing qualification (ISTQB).


The programme also provides excellent mentorship from our team of digital experts with those on the Academy learning directly from those pushing the boundaries in live Answer projects.

Graduation from the Academy will vary from person to person but we expect successful completion within 12 weeks.

Location:
Leeds, West Yorkshire (Upon Academy graduation, role may include travel, if/when project requires it)


Salary:
£27,500 (rising to £30,000 upon graduation of the Academy)

You will have a keen and active interest in automation testing, and looking to take those next steps to kickstart your professional career.


You will have a great thirst for learning and forever have your eyes peeled for the next new technology to pick up and try out.

You'll also be excited by the opportunity to work in agile teams to deliver value to clients.


What you'll bring to Answer:

Actively pursuing an interest in automation testing (via academic studies, self studying, and/or in a professional capacity).

Manual functional and regression testing knowledge and experience.

A passion for testing and technology.


The Programme:

During the Academy, learning is structured around the below key phases:

Introduction Phase:
Intro to Answer and agile ways of working.

Learning Phases 1 & 2:
Run over 6 weeks with 3 two-week sprints of practitioner-led training, self learning and hands-on mentoring covering key foundation knowledge and understanding the context of agile project delivery


This includes:
Learning RESTful architecture and principles and building an Automated API testing framework using Java or C#, with database management.

Each phase includes continual check-points and assessment in order to progress.

Career Progression:

By graduating from the Answer Academy, you will be equipped to work as part of a live project.

This role will involve working in agile teams to deliver innovative solutions for Answer Digital's customers. Our Academy graduates often progress at pace after completing this 12 week programme. We have seen one of our graduates progress from 'Graduate' to 'Lead Consultant' in just 3 years after 3 successive promotions - And this isn't an exception
