This is a great opportunity for a Senior Estimator, to join a leading structural steel company in
Billingham.

About our client.

Our client is a leading structural steel company, operating nationally across the UK and delivering structural steel projects across numerous sectors.

They are now expanding their commercial team looking for a Senior Estimator to convert sales opportunities into project revenue.

About the Role

Manage the process of accurately estimating the costs of projects.
Deal with incoming enquiries.
Liaise & negotiate with subtrades to receive competitive prices.
Liaise with clients' engineers, architects, other designers, and internal divisions/departments.
Produce accurate reports on status of enquiries and pipeline.
Produce reports and content for pretender interviews and post tender presentations.
Develop client and consultant relationships.
Building construction knowledge.
Good level of structural and civil engineering knowledge.
Accurate interpretation of drawings and technical specifications.
Can demonstrate pricing of structural steel projects.
Be able to price a job on demand (using experience).
Plan, control and report on enquiries.
Previous experience of dealing with contractors, engineers, architects and who they are.
Commercial awareness of economic construction techniques.
Experience of operating to an ISO 9001 quality system.
Understanding of costing processes.
Previous experience of operating in a similar company/environment/across similar projects.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under own initiative.
High degree of selfmotivation and a commitment to quality.
The ability to communicate confidently with external and internal teams.
The ability to present plans accurately.
Experience of value engineering and finding practical solutions to overcome barriers.
Literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Use of 3D model software would be an advantage.
