The key role of the holder is to drive the performance of the JLR Solihull Security Team to manage and where possible, reduce risk across the Solihull and Logistical Operations Centre (LOC).

This incorporates, but is not limited to, managing prototype security, shaping the improvement of our processes and policies, as well as training and Process audits.

You will be in control of planning security operations to protect our current and future products.

Security must be managed proactively to Protect the Future of JLR.

The role holder will have management responsibility of overseeing the onsite Security Team and budget for the Solihull Plant, LOC and Prototype Projects.


As Security Supervisor, you'll be responsible for:

  • Ensuring Risk Assessments are reviewed in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Supporting the Business Continuity Planning process
  • Supporting stakeholders with security and people safety advice
  • Ongoing maintenance of records management procedures
  • Conducting criminal activity investigations both overt and covertly
  • Living and Breathing the Creators Code and JLR Purpose within our Security Team
  • Working in collaboration with HR representatives to manage absence and other HR related processes to drive improvements within CS&BP
  • Assisting in managing the site risk register and mitigation plans for the Risk Delivery Group
  • Undertake any other work and training as directed by their line manager
  • Conducting Security duties around the site including but not limited to patrols, searches and security floor walks
  • Fostering an inclusive environment that makes our security staff feel fully integrated into the JLR team
  • Supporting with Training and the rollout of key corporate messages to our contract staff
  • Leading on any Security Incidents that may occur on site providing excellent lines of communication to Departmental and Site Stakeholder
  • Sharing lessons learned from incidents on site with wider team through CS&BP communication channels and consideration for future tactical decisionmaking exercises (TDEs)

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential:

  • Strong Negotiation and Stakeholder Management
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Experience of managing a team in a complex and demanding environment
  • Ability to identify, mitigate and manage Risk.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory/management role
  • Policy improvement 'mind set' with the ability to identify and implement robust solutions and enhancements
  • A strong drive to Protect the Future of JLR
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines in a fast paced and challenging environment.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Site Security systems and processes including Prototype Security
  • Previous experience in leading investigations into criminal activity
  • The shift pattern for this role will be flexible and there will be a requirement to work nights and weekends when it is required.
