Description

The post holder will:
Responsible for the first line management and leadership of the midwifery matrons. Along with the clinical and professional leadership of midwifery and nursing staff working across the service/site.

Support the achievement of all the site based key performance targets and work in liaison with other sites to share best practice.

Participation and leadership in the development of clinical pathways in maternity to ensure that clinical outcomes and women and families experiences continually improve.

To implement and monitor the Trust Infection prevention and control strategy within maternity.

To implement and monitor the quality agenda in relation to formal service user feedback, including complaints, Serious Incidents, and Friends and Family Feedback.

To monitor antenatal and newborn screening standards, providing leadership to the matrons to ensure all areas are meeting the standards.

To support the DMND in the review and implementation of national key quality drivers such as NHS long term plan, Maternity Incentive Scheme, Ockenden review and the Three year delivery plan for maternity and neonatal services.

To support the development of a midwifery team that continually strives to improve quality.
