Description
Full-Time Team Leader required for LD Services in Stevenage.

You will assist the Registered Manager in leading and managing the services or part of the services through:

  • Leading good practice in service user support
  • Service planning and implementation
  • Ensuring the implementation of personcentred plans
  • Implementation of active support

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To assist the Manager in creating and delivering support plans and to assist the Manager in implementing active support within the services.
  • To be part of the management Team & to undertake delegated duties such as delegate and monitor daily tasks as per task allocator.
  • To undertake staff supervision and support staff to provide professional service and collect relevant information for performance reviews.
  • To support service users to develop community presence.
  • To take responsibility for the development, implementation and review of Person-Centred Support for service users; involving individuals themselves, carers and other parties as appropriate.
  • To assist the Manager in the recruitment and development of the staff team through agreed rotas and staffing plans
  • To directly line manage Support Workers as necessary.
  • To assist the Manager in providing opportunities for staff to complete or achieve qualifications.
  • To assist the Manager in drawing up, implementing and reviewing risk assessments for service users and staff to ensure their health, safety and welfare is paramount at all times.
  • To take part in the on-call service on a rota basis.
  • To carry out any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post.
  • To assist the Manager in ensuring medication procedure is adhered to and accurate.
  • To be responsible for health and safety of yourself and others.
  • To work with the company's policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:



  • Essential

  • Previous experience of working with and supporting Adults with Profound/Multiple Learning Disabilities and/or Physical Disabilities


  • Essential

  • Flexibility and ability to work at shortnotice


  • Essential

  • Excellent communication skills including ability to use of symbols and objects of reference
  • Desirable
  • NVQ/QCF Level 2/3 qualifications and upwards.


  • Desirable

  • Previous experience in dealing with Challenging and Complex Behaviours.


  • Desirable

  • Full and clean UK driving license
