Reed Education are currently looking for a dedicated, organised and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work with an outstanding Wrexham based Primary School on a long term basis.


Working across the school in a variation of different year groups, you will be supporting a range of class teachers, covering PPA and as and when required supporting as a Teaching Assistant.

The HLTA will be expected to work both independently and collaborativelywith teaching staff in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.

Also, to deliver learning to individuals, small groups and whole classes as and when required.


What can I expect work to look like?:

  • Under the direction of a teacher, HLTAs often plan, prepare and deliver learning activities with individual pupils, groups and (in the short term) whole classes, and also assess, record and report on pupils' progress.
  • Many HLTAs have a role to play outside the classroom, as well: they may manage other classroombased staff, develop a specialist curriculum area within the school and often liaise with parents and carers on sensitive issues for particular pupils.
  • Have high expectations of pupils' achievement and behaviour
  • Be enthusiastic, flexible, creative and ambitious
  • The ability to be flexible, show initiative, be reliable and enthusiastic
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Recent and relevant experience of working with children within a Primary setting

To be considered for this role you would need to have:

  • A relevant teaching assistant qualification that qualifies you to work as a HLTA
  • Two references with your relevant experience within the last 2
