This is an exciting time to join Sandwell Metropolitan Brought Council Adult Social Care.

We are currently restructuring our community social work teams to create town teams and a separate Learning Disability and Autism Team for Sandwell adults and carers.


We are looking to recruit an additional 6 Social Care Officers (unqualified Social Workers) into the Wednesbury, West Bromwich, and Tipton Community Social Work teams.


We are looking for committed and hardworking social care professionals to bring your experience of social care, skills and attitude to make a difference to the lives of the people of Sandwell.


  • You will need to be motivated and flexible with high professional standards and sound knowledge and experience of current legislation including the Care Act 2014, continuing Healthcare, and mental capacity, you will be expected to work with vulnerable adults with mental health issues, physical disability, older people and their carers.
  • You will need to be confident in carrying out outcome focused assessments, support plans and reviews.
  • You will be expected to work with a diverse group of individuals, carers and partner agencies.
  • You will be given robust induction, ample training opportunities and regular supervision and excellent career development opportunities. We have agile working facilities and flexible working policies in place.
  • You will be working within a friendly, diverse, and supportive team, and be provided with regular supervision from experienced managers.
