Head of Strategy, Planning and Transformation


Marsh has a clear vision of the transformation agenda needed to maintain our industry leading position into the next decade.

By 2030 we have ambitious operating model targets to hit and a globally agreed framework of how to get there.

We now need to translate and execute this at a country level for the UK.

A new role has been created in the UK COO's leadership team which will span across the vertical lines of business, value streams and enabling functions.


The new Strategy, Planning and Transformation Leader will design and implement new ways of working and tech enabled operating models, challenging the current status quo and taking business leaders with them on transformation journey.


Role Dimensions


Reporting into the COO and working across a heavily matrixed organization in order to deliver, your work will be a critical factor in our overall performance.

Responsible for strategic operating model from design through to transformational execution.

  • Work across the business and COO function to design and execute the UK strategic TOM, aligned to the Global TOM.
  • Identify & monitor priorities that require leadership focus & proactively ascertain improvement/valueadd opportunities for O&T.
  • Drive execution of top priorities in alignment and agreed with the regional and global Executive O&T leadership teams.
  • Plan, design, and execute strategic projects on behalf of COO.
  • Lead indepth analysis of selected businesses and operations, develop strategic and tactical actions and prioritize, and document findings and results.


You've delivered more than incremental change in a corporate function; you have delivered on significant transformation programmes in complex commercial environments.

And not purely cost reduction programmes either; value creation and revenue growth programmes is where we're focused.

Your impact on others is always measured, controlled and deliberate. Emotional intelligence is the multiplier which has allowed you to achieve such success in your career to date. Your exceptional interpersonal skills are referenced by peers, bosses and support staff alike.

Operating model thought leadership and innovative design thinking and areas in which you excel. You are the driving force behind the design of major projects and their successful execution.

Financial services, consulting or comparable sector experience is suitable.

This is a Director level role or Principal equivalent consultant (1 under Partner).
