Description

The Forensic Mental Health Directorate provides an inpatient service across Staffordshire and Shropshire areas and is part of a regional network of providers for the West Midlands (REACHOUT).

The forensic unit provides both medium and low secure mental health facilities and a low secure learning disability facility for male adults.

You will provide effective and efficient secretarial support to a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist and multi-disciplinary clinical team pathway.

This includes the provision of office support services to facilitate patient care delivered by the team and liaison with other staff groups and outside agencies.

You will be required to work on your own initiative and demonstrate a
willingness to help others and be a key member of a team. You will be

expected to manage and prioritise your own work load and meet deadlines in order to fulfil the requirements of the post.

Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills are essential with an ability to deal with challenging situations.

  • You will provide comprehensive secretarial support to a consultant psychiatrist and clinical team.
  • Deal with incoming post.
  • Provide a confidential and efficient word processing service with the ability to convert reports and correspondence written by the consultant and clinical team.
  • Be able to use audio transcription equipment, and be competent in all Microsoft packages.
  • Be able to coordinate meetings and diary management.
  • You will attend weekly MDT meetings and take minutes, dealing with any subsequent actions.
