Are you looking to develop or progress your Design Management Career? Are you looking for a role you can work on large scale construction, with the support from a design manager mentor?_


I have an exciting position available for an Assistant Design Manager to join a Northwest leading Tier one main building contractor.

The contractor specialises in large education and other public sector work schemes varying in value from £8m - £30m.


Due to a number of new large developments they are looking for an Assistant Design Manager to join the team to assist with the design information for new building projects.

You will be expected to review the technical aspects of details put forward by architectsand engineers and co-ordinate changes with the Design team (including Structural Engineers, architects and external subcontractors) ensuring best value.

You will be involved in Design team meetings to co-ordinate the building process.

You will register received drawings on the information system, approve drawings and produce drawings via AutoCAD drawing system. You will also co-ordinate design information in accordance with Building Regulations.


Knowledge, skills and experience required

  • Requiring education/ qualifications to a level of NVQ 4, Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD drawing systems
  • Strong communication, negotiation and time management
