Job Summary:


We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and pro-active individual to join the Edinburgh Business Coordination team as a Business Coordination Specialist.

This opportunity will undoubtedly offer a new challenge for someone with a sound scientific background, who is now looking to use their experience in a commercial role.


The Business Coordination team advises and supports our clients in specifying their needs and costing their studies, in conjunction with the expertise offered by the Charles River Group.


Responsible for the coordination and creation of study outlines, Statements of Work and Amended Statements of Work for an assigned area of expertise, including the provision of specific advice and guidance in the design of customized study outlines, to support the business acquisition process.

Work with Client Services, Scientific Operations, Business Development, Project Coordination and Business Finance teams, as required, to ensure that a high-quality customer service is provided.


This scientific and strategic position offers you a global view of the business, interfacing with many departments, in accordance with the Charles River Group procedures.


Minimum requirements:

  • A strong scientific background, preferably in Analytical Lab Sciences, biological or environmental sciences, effective communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to use your own initiative are essential, as regular contact with internal customers will be an important feature of this role. Experience in a scientific role, e.g. Senior Assistant Scientist or Study Director, or in a scientific supporting role, e.g. Quality Assurance would be highly desirable.
  • BSc/BA or equivalent experience

The salary is competitive but dependent on experience.
