The Head of Asset Information role is a critical role to deliver on National Grid's vision, "To be at the heart of a clean, fair and affordable energy future". You will report into our Asset Management Director and work as part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers, finance, commercial, data and digital leaders to develop, embed and manage asset data lifecycle strategies including interaction with various enterprise asset management systems at National Grid.
This role presents an opportunity for someone with a passion for asset management and deep expertise in managing and maintaining good quality asset data through innovative digital technologies.

What you'll be getting up to:

Develop and manage the scope of the Asset Information and Digital Twin Strategy; Aligned to the Asset Management strategy and key objectives, Informed by industry asset management and ISO data standards
Exploit the utilisation of our existing enterprise asset management systems and lead development of future data management and system requirements.
Establish data management framework to define and deliver a portfolio of asset data products, data governance, data management and/or ongoing services to develop our Asset Information model(s).
Identify, prioritise and initiate targeted data quality improvement pilots to enhance asset management practises.
Collaborate closely with the National Grid Asset Management, IT and digital teams to ensure seamless integration of the datadriven solutions into new and existing business processes
Effectively communicate the value of datadriven initiatives to senior management and other stakeholders, ensuring buyin and support
Ensure data remains accessible and a strategy in place for the integration and consumption of key Asset data

Key Accountabilities:

Recruit, lead, motivate and develop a professional team, prioritise work and allocate resources in order to ensure results are delivered in line with expectations and business objectives.
Deliver informed, authoritative technical asset plans for maintenance and capital investment in order to improve business performance in the medium term.
Translate business requirements into clearly defined business cases, budgets and risk assessments to facilitate planning and building processes.
Implement process safety controls in the department and support engineering process safety programs.

About you:

Experienced in building, managing, and working with cross-functional teams

Knowledge of data governance and management principles, preferably related to data and analytics initiatives in the asset management domain
Understanding of systems and digital technologies supporting the asset lifecycle, pertaining to the maintenance and operation of the asset, including but not limited to Maximo, SAP etc.
Indepth understanding of asset management principles, maintenance practices and strategies, and associated industry standards
