Description

We are recruiting a Junior Estimator to join our expanding team at our Wakefield Office. This will be an opportunity to gain and expand your skills and become a key member of the team.

Minimum Requirements:

Good communication skills with suppliers, clients, office, labour teams and operations.
This is a demanding role where last minute changes can cause pressure, an ability to stay calm and to work through issues as they arise is a must.
Good attention to detail with genuine interest in sales and business development.
Selfmotivated with a "can do" approach and with very good IT literacy.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Maintain and build rapport with suppliers to ensure that the company is able to buy at optimum prices.
Ensure that supplier performance is managed and reported to the wider team.
Estimate material, labour & plant for bids and tenders.
Liaise with clients on an ongoing basis to determine progress of tenders.
Ability to value engineer bids to assist clients with their budgets and to put the company at the head of the pack in competitive scenarios.
Preparation of detailed handovers to the project team for successful delivery.
Be flexible and willing to take on tasks as specified by management.

Essential Criteria:

Applicants must have 5 GCSE's at Grade C or above or equivalent, these must include Mathematics and English Language.
Good Microsoft Office skills to include Excel, Word and Outlook.
Good attention to detail with genuine interest in sales and business development.
Selfmotivated with a "can do" approach and with very good IT literacy.
Ability to take ownership of their duties and a willingness to grow and learn within their team and the company.
Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Demonstrate a good ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
Previous experience as a junior estimator or estimating admin will be advantageous.
