We are looking for a Production Shift Team Lead on a full-time, permanent basis.


The shift team lead role will direct the activities of team members and supervisors working within the production department, scheduling their work to meet production requirements and ensure an efficient and safe working environment.


This challenging position places high premiums on effective teamwork, clear communication and resolute dedication to delivering product from the production line efficient and to the highest standards.


Location:
Theale, Reading


Working hours: 1.45 to 10.30pm Monday to Thursday and 1.45 to 6.15pm Friday


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the Management team to lead production, ensuring schedules are planned and delivered in an efficient and costeffective manner.
  • People management responsibility including the undertaking of return to work interviews, performance reviews and training/career development.
  • Oversee training of new and existing staff to provide consistent performance, motivation, support and guidance.
  • Ensure all employees understand the importance of and work to the highest standards in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality at all times.
  • Actively encourage continuous improvement activities, delivery of excellence to achieve performance targets and objectives.
  • Maximise and constantly improve manufacturing protocols to improve pass rates and efficiency.
  • Implement review processes that maximise equipment and process effectiveness
  • Oversee problems such as instrument troubleshooting.
  • Listen to team members feedback, resolve or escalate any issues/conflicts.
  • Work in a flexible way to ensure cover during holidays and sickness, whilst being totally responsive to the needs of the Production team.

Experience Required

  • Supervisory experience in a production environment
  • Chemistry BSc (Desired but not essential)
  • Ability to use a range of other computer programs, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • An understanding of quality and ERP systems, ideally ETQ and SAP.
  • An awareness of COSHH and risk assessments.
  • An understanding of a HPLC/uHPLC column production environment.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 is advantageous.
  • Strong numerical skills with an understanding data analytics.
  • Ideally, your own transport due to the finish time of the role
