Approvals Panel Administrator/ Co-Ordinator
Hours: 22.5 hours per week. To be agreed with the Approvals Manager. Days may vary due to business requirements.
Location:
Working from Home with some national travel.
Closing Date: 6 April 2023.
Interviews will be held in Chippenham the Week beginning 17 April 2023.
Winterhead Ltd is responsible for exercising the statutory approval functions of the
Secretary of State for Health under Section 12(2) and Section of the Mental
Health Act MHA) for the South of England.
Winterhead Ltd requires a Panel Co-Ordinator to support the Approvals Manager.
The role involves supporting the England South Approvals Panel and the operational management of the Approvals function associated with the registration, approval of medical practitioners under the Section 12(2) MHA 1983 and registration, approval of medical and non-medical, practitioners as Approved Clinicians under Section of the MHA 1983 for, and on behalf of the Department of Health.
The Post Holder will support the Approvals Manager to ensure that Winterhead Ltd provides an efficient and legally compliant approvals service across the South ofEngland ensuring that robust governance and compliance arrangements, data protection arrangements and policies/procedures remain in place so that Winterhead is able to comply with the Secretary of State Instructions and all relevant legislation in relation to the Approvals function.
The post holder must work with training providers to ensure standards meet the national training guidance.The postholder will be required to in the absence of the Approval Manager to present at training events and run workshops.
The post holder must be able to attend meetings either with or without the ApprovalsManager and take detailed minutes at the Department of Health in London and Leeds,
England South Approvals Panel Meetings in Chippenham and other meetings across the country as required. Travel and Expenses are paid.
The Post Holder will be fully supported by the experienced Approvals Manager and must be willing and able to work flexibly, and will be required to line manage the administrators in the absence of the Approvals Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for an applicant who has the proven ability to work autonomously and as a team member, good attention to detail is key, with the ability to embrace change, take detailed minutes and transcribe and who is confident in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders, both regionally, strategically and operationally.
GDPR the Mental Health Act 1983 as applies to the approval function is desirable but not essential.
The post holder must have the ability to travel independently and convey many documents to and from meetings.
The Post Holder will be required to attend meetings/training/workshops regionally and nationally which may involve an overnight stay or long days.
The post holder must be willing and able to work additional hours as required to cover staff absences or busy periods.
