Procurement Officer - Birmingham, United Kingdom - NFP Europe
Description
We are recruiting for aProcurement Officer to join our growing finance team, based in
Birmingham.
This role will have overall responsibility for managing our procurement processes, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, across the UK and Ireland.
The Procurement Officer will collaborate with various internal stakeholders to establish and implement effective procurement strategies, negotiate contracts, and drive operational efficiency in the procurement function.
Overview of duties:
- Responsible for the creation and implementation of procurement strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
- Ensure that purchasing policies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets and which enables the company to function
- Liaise with Stakeholders of newly acquired businesses, to assess and implement rationation of suppliers
- Ensure purchasing policy, guidelines and any associated documents are in place and updated when required
- Provide management reports and conduct regular cost analysis and market assessments to identify opportunities for cost optimisation
- Manage relationships with suppliers and select and develop new suppliers
- Negotiate and manage contract terms with suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders and colleagues
- Work with suppliers and have a process in place to measure effective performance, quality and compliance
- Ensure professional and consistent supplier management is applied across the supply base in line with the purchasing policy
- Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
Person specification:
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Indepth knowledge of procurement strategies, vendor management, and supply chain processes
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in procurement. Contract and supplier experience
Education / and or Experience:
- 5+ years' experience within a Procurement Officer role

Monday - Friday, 35 Hours
Location:
Birmingham / Bromsgrove - hybrid
